Meet Our Team
Karen Sholander MT-BC, HPMT, NMT
Founder and CEO
Karen has a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Baylor University, and a Music Therapy Equivalency from Saint Mary of the Woods College.
She has been working in hospice and senior care for over 10 years. Karen has additional certifications in Hospice and Palliative Care Music Therapy and Neurologic Music Therapy.

Luisa Gee
MT-BC, NMT
Internship Director
Luisa received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from Texas State University and a Master's Equivalency in Music
Therapy from Texas Woman's University.
After Luisa completed her internship with Moments Music Therapy, she joined the team professionally as a Board-Certified Music Therapist. She became licensed as a Neurologic Music Therapist in 2026.
Luisa strives to provide an encouraging and fun environment for clients to feel comfortable enough to express themselves.
Emma Pitts

Philanthropy Director
Emma has a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy from Texas Woman’s University, and a heart set on working with older adults.
As our Philanthropy Director, Emma connects our team with organizations that benefit older adults and their families by providing education, support, and resources.
Heather Mock

Clinician
Heather earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy and a Master of Music Therapy, both from Texas Woman’s University.
Heather brings creative interventions and ideas to the team, which she developed while working with adults who have intellectual & developmental disabilities and adolescents in mental health settings.
Clarissa Palomeque
MT Intern
Clarissa is passionate about community and culture and hopes to help clients build meaningful connections through music.
As a student, Clarissa has worked with children and adults with intellectual disabilities as well as older adults receiving hospice care.
Destiny Lucero
MT Intern
Destiny is a veteran with a background in psychology. She is creative, goal-driven, open-minded, patient, and family-oriented. Her family has shaped her musical knowledge and the close relationship with her Abuelita inspired her to work with seniors.
Destiny plans to have her own business combining therapy and music to serve her community.
