Residential Care Communities
Your residents will be actively engaged and have fun while they work on cognitive, physical and social goals. The music therapist brings live music, instruments for everyone, and facilitates a thoroughly interactive hour for all involved.
Memory Care Groups
Research shows that music therapy has benefits beyond entertainment for people with dementia: to uplift mood, improve episodic memory, and to improve dementia-related behavior issues. Our therapists keep everyone actively engaged using live and recorded music, instruments for all participants and make personal connections with each person in the group. Participants are calmer, more alert, and more amenable following our sessions. (Group max: 14)
Assisted Living Groups
Adjusting to an increased level of care can be a challenge for some seniors. Our groups focus on forming connections between residents and maintaining a positive living environment. Using the group's preferred live music, we practice functional movement like core strength and balance, and we create music-based challenges to keep everyone cognitively interested and engaged. (Group max: 20)

Early Parkinson's Support
These sessions specifically target the voice and mobility issues commonly faced by people with Parkinson's disease. Singing, instrument play, and movement interventions are used to keep maximum vocal, physical, and cognitive function for as long as possible. (Group max: 10)

Sensory Groups
These intimate groups are designed for those farther along in their disease progression who cannot successfully engage in a larger group experience. Through proximity and focused attention, the MT-BC meets the needs of the individuals, including sensory stimulation and hand on hand assistance for adapted instruments. (Group max: 6)

Community One-On-One Visits
These sessions are meant for people residing in care communities that may be bed-bound or who do not wish to participate in group activities. Referrals are made by facility staff according to need. Individual sessions focus on addressing immediate needs in a short timeframe. Hour-long time blocks allow the MT-BC to visit 2 or more people in the building, with an average time allotment of 25 minutes per session.

Care Homes
Your caregivers and residents will look forward to their music therapy sessions! Similar to residential care communities, we visit your care home and bring everything needed for a social musical experience. As in all of our sessions, we include population-specific music, cognitive goals, functional movement goals, interpersonal connections and instrument play by the participants. Depending on the size and needs of the care home, a group or mini-sessions may be more beneficial for residents.

Individual Music Therapy
Our individual sessions for older adults take place in your home or residence and are uniquely crafted to meet specific needs. We work with clients to make music, help with therapeutic songwriting, work on musical legacy projects and more. Individual music therapy can treat a variety of issues including coping with life changes, depression, social isolation, supporting family connections and managing illnesses. Family members are always welcome to participate in individual sessions, if the client is in agreement!
*Please note that group sizes are limited to provide the greatest therapeutic benefits for every person. Multiple groups can be scheduled on the same day of service to best meet the needs of larger communities.
